Arthur Melo has refused to return to the Joan Gamper facility on Monday pushing his contract to be terminated to enable him to join his new teammates at Juventus. The 23yr old did not turn up for training as he remained in his native Brazil and he has agreed not to represent the Catalonian giant anymore. Barcelona, on the other hand, has refused to grant the Brazilian his request.
ABN( African Betting News) have asked the questions repeatedly why Arthur Melo have been left on the bench after completing his move to Juventus, a move he never wanted from the beginning, a move that was deliberate by the board to balance the books. He has been caught yawning at the stands severally while youngster Riqui Puig, Arturo Vidal and the injured De Jong preferred at the midfield. A question we could not find an answer to, meanwhile at the other end, Miralem Pjanic has been playing for Juventus even after agreeing to the switch, leaving us to wonder if there was a law at Barcelona that forbade sold players not to play anymore for the club until their switch is completed.
Barcelona is seeing Arthurs actions as a breach of contract as the player has refused to return to training and will not condone his behaviour, hence a legal proceeding has been initiated.
They have refused to terminate his contract till the end of the season. Report from Marca has also stated Barcelona will not terminate his contract till the end of the season.
Barcelona is tied to Napoli for the round of 16 of the UCL on the 8th of August for the second leg of the encounter and thus need all hands on deck.
Arthur’s contract with Juventus has been sealed and does not want to represent Barcelona again, and all these could be as a result of how he was traded. At first the Brazilian stated he wanted to stay and fight for his place in the Blaugrana’s shirt only for the deal to be done forcing him out of the club so therefore wanting his contract cancelled but Barcelona has refused.
Arthur took time off as the others after the present La Liga campaign was concluded and he was at Ibiza before travelling to his native Brazil and since has refused to return.
Arthur joined the Spanish giants two seasons ago and to his belt has the La Liga title of 2018/2019 season and also won the Spanish super cup. In all, he has appeared 72 times for the Blaugranas. One can only imagine where all these went wrong for a young man that was dubbed the new Xavi by the clubs fans only to be seen thrown out the door forcefully.
We will keep our readers up to date for the next line of action with the Arthur/Barcelona feud, stay glued!
